Proud and Curious All-Round-Geek, Author & Producer of the Did You Know Blog, Experienced Sales & Marketing Professional, Perpetual Student!

I do not believe I am an expert in pretty much anything. I do believe that I am a perpetual student – and that I can always learn more. I do believe that there are far more questions that need to be asked than likely can be answered – and sometimes the fun is learning enough to be able to ask the question.

Questions mean thinking. Questions mean being critical, and not always taking things at face value. Questions also mean acknowledging that there is more to learn.

And there is always more to learn!

Did You Know evolved from the craziness of 2020 – where the world that was comfortable, suddenly became different and many things were upside down. My inner geek was thrilled – that meant a lot of new things to try, new things to learn. Mistakes are not a bad thing – they are simply another path to explore on the journey of learning!

This blog (or series of blogs on a couple of topic areas) has a few rules:

So – who am I that I feel that I can write up Biopharma, Biotechnology, & Bioprocess or on Remote Living and Working?

I am working in the field of biopharma, biotechnology, and bioprocess as a regional sales engineer with the Hamilton Company. This blog does not reflect the views and feelings of the Hamilton Company – only my personal thoughts. In my daily work, I work closely with many different types of companies, helping define process analytic measurements that complement data requirements in their cell culture and fermentation processes.

I have been working remotely, as a field salesperson or field marketing person for the past 2 decades, across a range of fields in the chemical, material science, pharmaceutical, stem cell, and biotechnology fields.

I have always been an early adopter of technology and neat tools to help me be more effective in work – and with the changes brought by COVID-19, I was quick to apply those tools to the new reality.

I believe that the remote ways of working will stay with us long past the lift of quarantine and the need for social distance – simply put – people have changed the way they expect to work and work with others. Many of the changes are here to stay!
